Mr. Stein’s practice concentrates on estate planning, estate administration, tax controversy, asset protection, and special needs planning.  Mr. Stein approaches estates of varying complexity with attention and diligence, from straightforward Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, and Advance Health Care Directives, to intergenerational wealth transfer plans for high net worth families.  Mr. Stein creates plans that implement strategies to minimize income, gift, and estate tax liabilities. He also prepares income, gift, and estate tax returns, and forms business entities. In addition, Mr. Stein represents clients in audits before the Internal Revenue Service and the State of New Jersey Division of Taxation. 

Mr. Stein joined the firm following employment with the Department of Justice, Tax Division, and the Tax, Trust, and Estate group at the Morris County law firm of Schenck, Price, Smith and King, LLP. 

Mr. Stein has consistently been recognized by Super Lawyers Magazine as a rising star in New Jersey in the field of Estate Planning and Probate (2009 – 2019).  Mr. Stein has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers of America published by Woodward/White in the field of Trusts and Estates (2013 - 2022).  Mr. Stein has been selected as an Essex County Top Lawyer in the field of Wills, Trusts and Estates as published by Morris/Essex Health & Life Magazine (2018 - 2021).
